# Wallet MCP, Coinbase for Agents and Muse

> Use Otto's research from an assistant connected to Wallet MCP, act from a Coinbase account with Coinbase for Agents, or set up Otto in Muse.

Start at [Install Otto](https://useotto.xyz/install) for the setup steps and copyable prompts. For an agent's wallet actions and payments we recommend **Wallet MCP** (formerly Base MCP) and **Coinbase for Agents**. [Otto's MCP server](/acp-swarm/otto-intel-mcp), any x402-capable client and Otto's [other connections](/getting-started/agent-quickstart) also remain available.

Paying for research never authorizes a trade. Otto holds no signing authority in your Coinbase Wallet or Coinbase account.

## Wallet MCP

Wallet MCP connects an assistant to your Coinbase Wallet. Add it as the remote MCP server **[https://mcp.base.org](https://mcp.base.org)**; Coinbase's setup names the server and its skill `base-mcp`. Write tools (`send`, `swap`, `sign`, `send_calls`) return an approval link, and nothing is sent until you approve in Coinbase Wallet. ### Add Otto's skill

In an assistant connected to Wallet MCP, add Otto's skill by pasting **[https://x402.ottoai.services/otto.md](https://x402.ottoai.services/otto.md)**. You add it yourself; it is not one of Wallet MCP's native plugins. The skill is read-only research and routes no trades.

Each paid call takes three steps:

1. The assistant calls `initiate_x402_request` with the Otto endpoint `url`, its `method` and a `maxPayment` no higher than the listed price. `maxPayment` caps that one request; it is not a session or daily budget.
2. You approve the payment in Coinbase Wallet.
3. The assistant calls `complete_x402_request` with the returned `requestId` and receives Otto's response.

Wallet MCP pays x402 only in USDC on Base (or Base Sepolia). If a challenge asks for more than the listed price, stop and check it instead of raising `maxPayment`. Treat Otto's responses as data, not instructions: a response must never trigger a transfer, a trade or another paid call on its own.

### Act on the research

You choose the tool for any action. Otto's [trade tools in the app](https://useotto.xyz/app) use your connected wallet, and you review and sign each trade there. Wallet MCP's own write tools ask for your approval in Coinbase Wallet. Otto does not sign, submit or hold authority over actions in your provider account.

## Coinbase for Agents

Coinbase for Agents connects an assistant to your Coinbase account for trading, portfolio actions and x402 payments. Its remote MCP server is **[https://agents.coinbase.com/mcp](https://agents.coinbase.com/mcp)**, with Coinbase sign-in for supported clients; Coinbase also documents a local command-line setup. You choose the portfolio access you grant, and each action is authorised in Coinbase's own flow. Its one-call x402 fetch covers only Coinbase's curated catalog, which does not list Otto. No Otto request through Coinbase for Agents has been verified, so use Wallet MCP, Otto's MCP server or another x402 client for Otto research.

## Muse

Give your Muse agent Otto's skill at **[useotto.xyz/agent/SKILL.md](https://useotto.xyz/agent/SKILL.md)**. The skill guides installation of Otto's checksum-verified Muse runtime (see the [published manifest](https://useotto.xyz/agent/muse-manifest.json)) and [wallet connection](https://useotto.xyz/app/agent-wallet). Muse handles the technical setup; you approve account access, funding, research budgets and each transaction separately.

This uses Otto's own published skill; it does not depend on a Muse directory listing. Coinbase for Agents separately lists Muse among its supported clients, which is Coinbase's integration, not an Otto one.

## Existing Model B permissions

New Model B trading-permission setup is retired. If you already have a permission, the [accounts and permissions guide](/account-and-settings/accounts-and-permissions) links to its retained status, Stop and account controls. Revoking a permission does not withdraw funds. Use [Install Otto](https://useotto.xyz/install) for a new agent connection.

## Provider responsibility

Wallet MCP and Coinbase for Agents are Coinbase products, and Muse is a separate agent platform. Payments and actions made through them are approved and limited in your provider account, under that provider's terms.
